Mga Mumunting Lihim

Mga Mumunting Lihim, an Indie film by Cinemalaya, is a story of friendship among four women whose differences in character made the spice of the film. The story evolved in Carla(Iza Calzado)'s reading of a diary of their dead friend Mariel (Judy Ann Santos). The former, being the intelligent one, was very interested in reading the diary to know issues about their friendship, and how she dragged her other friends to settle these issues among them.

The plot was simple but it was the actresses' acting capability that made it interesting. Judy Ann's acting capacity was downgraded in this film. Yes she made a show of her tears but it wasn't as dramatic and eloquent as she used to be. Neither Iza's performance was exemplary. Thanks to her gorgeous eyes which made most of her acting by staring and glaring. It was Agot who had no flaws and delivered a good acting in this film as well as Janice who portrayed a humble housewife.

The age gap of the actresses was obvious although they were trying to slim it down. Agot and Janice were pinabata, Iza and Judy ann were pina-mature ng konti.

The characters were more of an upper middle class citizens, dressed up well, but was downgraded by their use of foul language which presumably intentionally injected by the scriptwriter to catch attention and enliven.

Overall, the film was quite a watch. Three stars. Four stars for an indie film.
