RIP Neil Armstrong
The first person who literally did the moonwalk is dead. Neil Armstrong was 82 when he died on August 25, 2012.
Cause of death was said to be complications brought about by his heart surgery. Armstrong commander of the Apollo 11 moon mission has a famous quote "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind."
I'm genuinely saddened by his death. He was an amazing human being. One of those people will still remember in 1000 years
R.I.P Neil! makes me proud to be (an) American. Fly safe, Neil. Thank you, others said.
Armstrong (to then President Nixon): "It's a great honor and privilege for us to be here representing *not only the United States but men of peace of all nations, and with interests and the curiosity and with the vision for the future.* It's an honor for us to be able to participate here today."
And all of humankind, ALL of us, follow in his footsteps.
